Post-canon AU stories are stories in which the quest ends differently than in Tolkien’s original version. Most of the time, this means that [Spoiler (click to open)]Thorin, Fili and Kili surive and Erebor doesn’t fall into Dain’s hands. I've split my orignal AU rec list into two parts, it just got too big. Originally I wasn't too fond of Hobbit AUs with modern settings, because I thought that the Tolkienverse just didn't translate too well into the modern age...boy, was I wrong. WAS I WRONG. There are some spectacular, fantastic modern setting AUs out there!
